The empire was established in a region that is located on the territory of today’s India. Mughal Empire is known as one of the great Turkish States in history. It was established by Babur Timur's grandsonin 1526. In 1858, a riot broke out the British intervened to the region and the Mughal Empire in India was ended. Later India has been linked to the Empire of Great Britain.
Political History
Muhammad Babur was born in 1483 in Fergana. His father Omar Sheikh Mirza was ruler of Ferghana. After the death of his father, he lost the struggle for the throne with his uncle and together with the men under his command they traveled to Kabul in 1504. He made the city capital of the state. After Babur Shah, his son Humayun(1530-1556) has passed to the head of state. Humayun Shah wasn’t a capable ruler. He died in 1566 and Akbar Shah (1556-1605) was placed in his position. In the period of Akbar Shah, it was observed that the Indian influence increased. During this period, the Indians begun to serve in the military and in the government. Later Cihangir (1605-1627) took his place. During this period, there weren’t any significant achievements. The most important job done was the route between Lahore and Agra. During this period the British has started to influence in India. After Cihangir, there was a fight for the throne. Sah Cihan won the struggle for the throne with his brothers. In order to prevent this type of a struggles, he killed all the men of his own descendants. Relations with the Europeans during the reign of Shah Jahan observed that it is increased even further. The Taj Mahal is known as the most important monuments of the period. On the death of his favorite wife, Banu Ercument(Mumtaz Mahal), he brought the world's most famous architects and craftsmen, (a student of architect Sinan which is Mehmet Isa was included), to create a magnificent piece. The construction of the work began in 1631 and was completed in 1652. In 1707 throne fights started and in 1723 the country was divided into two sections as Delhi and Hyderabad states. The ruler of Iran captured Delhi in 1739 and has seized a large part of the Imperial Treasury. In 1858 all India was added to the British Empire.
